Bismillah. This is to say a huge “Thank you!” to everyone who’s contributed to public letters, petitions & statements of support over the past few days. My family and I have been extremely touched by your kindness, and we hope that we are able to repay it in some way.

just wanted to offer you my support for what has occured in the past few days. We have a major problem in the muslim community and this has highlited it further. My own views are similar to your own and it is having a detrimental effect on me albeit in a lesser way. I hope some good comes from this crazy episode for you.

Just like to give you some support. I am also an agnostic humanist who left Islam, and one of those reasons was indeed down to the Theory of Natural Selection. Good luck in reforming the Ummah. Please come & visit us at the council of exmuslims forum, we have reformist muslims there too who would be pleased with your support in debates 😉 By the way, what did you mean that Adam has no father, you do realise this is not supported by the Theory of Evolution?

Dear Usama,
you deserve the support for your sincere and hard work, which is in my opinion of great value to the ummah.
May Allah protect you and your family from those who cannot accept others thinking differently.
Jazak’Allah khairan.

If there has been any death threat made against Dr Usama Hasan – this is indeed deplorable.

Assalaamu alaikum, Dr. Usama.
I congratulate you on your recent retraction from Darwinism.
I am in the U.S. and was not made aware of this controversy regarding your statements until recently. Nevertheless, perhaps it is still not too late to draw your attention to the staggering amount of valid scientific criticism of Darwinism, which is not the same as “evolution” (biological change over time/descent with modification).
In particular, I have found the works of scholars of the Discovery Institute’s Center for Science and Culture, in Seattle, WA, demonstrating both objectivity, as well as critical and solid-research when I was researching the issue.
A list of some of their works, as well as those of others, have been compiled on this page below:
http://www.goodreads.com/list/show/4118.Best_Books_on_Darwinism
Please take your time out to read and research this other less-publicised scientific position as well. Most of the books are, inshaa’ Allaah, useful, but I’d recommend starting with the following:
– The Design of Life: Discovering Signs of Intelligence in Biological Systems,
by William Dembski, Ph.D (Mathematics) & Jonathan Wells, Ph.D (Molecular & Cell Biology)
– The Politically Incorrect Guide to Darwinism and Intelligent Design,
by Jonathan Wells
– Icons of Evolution, by Jonathan Wells
– Getting the Facts Straight: A Viewer’s Guide to PBS’s “Evolution”
by Discovery Institute
– Evolution: Science or Ideology?
by Irfan Yilmaz, Ph.D (Systematic Zoology)
– Signature in the Cell: DNA and the Evidence for Intelligent Design,
by Stephen C. Meyer, Ph.D (Philosophy of Science)
– The Case for a Creator,
by Lee Strobel
In addition to books, there are a number of informative documentary films which might be very helpful, though not as detailed:
– Darwin’s Dilemma: The Cambrian Fossil Record
– Unlocking the Mystery of Life: The Scientific Case for Intelligent Design
– The Case for a Creator
– Icons of Evolution
– Metamorphosis: The Beauty and Power of Intelligent Design
All of them are produced by Illustra Media and are based on the works of Discovery Institute fellows.

Once again, congratulations on your retraction.
May you you be gathered with the diligent and sincere scholars of Islam who do not fear having their mistakes corrected by those less knowledgeable them, and who accept sincere advice wherever it comes from.
Please do not be disheartened by any of the insincere and uncivilised comments, or those even worse threats.
May Allaah keep you and your family safe, and may He make us all continue to tread the path of the Qur’aan and the authentic Hadeeth according to the understanding of the Salaf.
Was-salaamu alaikum,
Your brother in Islam,
Rasheed.

as salaam alaykum bro Usama
May Allah SWT make it easy for you and grant you all success.
I think you should know that you have our support. You should however also be aware that some of the people backing you, for their own motives, are extreme Muslim haters/Islamophobes, so be wary of them.
I mean people like Faisal Gazi Faisal Gazi, a self -declared apostate who runs the Spittoon website which has articles attacking the Quran, Islam, the Prophet Muhammed (sallAllahu alayhi wasalaam), the Sharia and religious Muslims.
You can see some evidence of this here:
http://spittoonwatch.wordpress.com/category/kufr/
There is also an excellent expose of Faisal Gazi andSpittoon and its anti-Muslim extremism by Powerbase here :
http://www.powerbase.info/index.php/The_Spittoon
Also an extremist zionist called David Toube (who writes as David T or Lucy Lips) on the extreme zionist anti-Muslim site Harrys Place
Here he is publically abusing Moazzem Begg for the “crime” having fought against the genocide of Muslims in Bosnia
http://www.iengage.org.uk/component/content/article/1-news/721-david-toube-of-harrys-place-filmed-ranting-like-a-madman
Do you really want the support of people who support the genocide of Muslims?
He also went to the Daily Mail with a story designed to whip up hatred of Muslims
